2023 AWBD Parks Award

Harris County MUD 361 was honored to be presented with the Association of Water Board Directors (AWBD) DIV III - Landscaping, Parks & Trails Award, for the renovations and improvements made to Lakeview Park. The 2023 AWBD Projects Award Program is designed to highlight the wonderful projects that districts accomplish to improve the lives of their constituents. This was a joint effort with the Summerwood Homeowners Association (HOA) and we would like to thank the members of the HOA for their continued support and management of Lakeview Park. We also would like to acknowledge and thank all Summerwood residents for their patience during the Lakeview Park renovations.

We hope all of Summerwood will take the opportunity to come out and enjoy the new improvements at our award-winning park! Residents now have access to restroom facilities, a covered picnic pavilion area with an outdoor kitchen, drinking fountains, and expanded parking. This is a peaceful oasis that has something for everyone. Relax and take in the picturesque views at the gazebo. Children can enjoy a ship-themed playground and look for adventure, pretending to sail the high seas. Dogs can take a leisurely stroll around the lake.  Anglers big and small can cast a line out into Lake Houston from the fishing pier, so long as you have the proper fishing license. Enjoy a picnic at the new pavilion, under the ceiling fans, or bring a blanket and find a wide-open space under the trees. There is plenty of room to toss around a football, baseball, or Frisbee!

Lakeview Park is located on Lake Houston at the corner of Yaupon Holly and Eastern Redbud Lane. This is an exclusive amenity for Summerwood residents only, so please remember to bring your key fob for access.  If you do not have a key fob, stop by the Residents' Central Club during office hours to obtain yours. You will be glad to visit this hidden gem!
